Hi Helen,

 

Billy Bob is just a wonderful, wonderful Basset.  He has settled in here like he has been here all his life.

 

We just love him to death.  He is so cute and funny.  He is running in the back yard and up the stairs.  He

 

eats his supper great and gets his cookies.  He is the most loving dog I have ever seen.  We did not make

 

a mistake in adopting him and please rest assured he is just fine.  Any time you want to see for yourself

 

please feel free to come and see him.

 

Thank you a million times over for allowing us to adopt him.  He has filled a big hole in this house that we didn't even realize was there.  He is wonderful, fun, adorable, I can't say enough about him.

Bonjour Helen,

 Billy Bob est un merveilleux  Basset.  Il se sent chez-lui ici comme s’il avait toujours vécu avec nous

Nous l’adorons à mort. Il est tellement mignon et drôle. Il court dans le parterre et dans l’escallier. Il mange sont soupé très bien et il reçoit des biscuits. Il est le chien le plus affectueux que j’ai jamais vu. Nous n’avons pas fait une erreur en l’adoptant et s’il vous plait soit assuré qu’il est bien. Nous t’invitons à venir le voir, toi-même, n’importe quand.

Nous te remercions mille fois pour nous avoir donné la chance de l’adopter. Il a remplit un gros vide dans notre vie que nous ne savions même pas existait.  Il est merveilleux, drôle, adorable, je ne peux pas en dire assez à son sujet.

Encore une fois, milles mercis!

Good Morning !

Here is Lucky writing to you!

Well we went back and took the ferry. Little kids were looking at me on the ferry and said I was a cutie!

We came home and I met Nady who is my new sister. We are getting along well. I was introduce to the girl who lives in the bachelor down stair s and she had bought me a stuffed beaver animal with 2 teeth to great me. We had supper and we went to the store to buy me a big red cord and a squeak squeak toy and my own food.

We came back and I played in the secured field with Nady and Habby who is a two year old Bouvier des Flandres. We had a good time. Today I will be introduce to Charlotte who is a Bouvier des Flandes one year old. She was out yesterday for a competition (agilit�. She won the first price I heard.

We watch T.V. and we went to bed at 10:30. Nady slept in the bed and I pick in the bedroom a big old leather couch were I fit perfectly and I had a wonderful night.

Today the girl down stairs will wash and dry me. Next week there is a supper to welcome me and the other basset my new owner knows is invited.

I am sure I will do fine because I deserve it and my new mother is already in love with me.

Thank you again for everything you did for me! My owner will send you soon pictures of me in my new place.

C’est Lucky qui vous écrit!

Et bien nous sommes retournés et avons prit le traversier. Des petits enfants me regardaient et ils ont dit que j’étais mignon!

Nous sommes arrivés à la maison et j’ai rencontré Nady qui est ma nouvelle sœur. Nous nous entendons bien. J’ai rencontré la fille qui vit en bas et elle m’avait acheté un castor en pluche avec 2 dents pour me dire bonjour. Nous avons soupé et après avons été  au magasin pour m’acheter une grosse corde rouge et un jouet qui fait du bruit et ma propre nourriture. Nous sommes revenus et j’ai joué dans ma cour sécurisé avec Nady et Habby qui est un Bouvier des Flandres de deux ans. Nous avons eu du plaisir. Aujourd’hui je vais rencontrer Charlotte qui est un  Bouvier des Flandres d’un an. Elle était partie hier en compétition (agilité, ont me dit qu’elle à gagné premier prix).

Nous avons écouté la télé et avons été nous coucher à 10:30. Nady à dormit dans le lit et moi, j’ai choisi une belle grande causeuse en cuir dans la chambre à coucher. J’ai très bien dormit.

Aujourd’hui, la fille d’en bas va me laver et me faire sécher. La semaine prochaine il y a un souper pour me souhaiter la bienvenue et il va y avoir un autre basset que m’a nouvelle mère connaît.  

Je suis sur que je vais être bien car je le mérite et ma nouvelle mère est déjà en amour avec moi.  

Merci encore pour tout ce que vous avez fait pour moi! Mon nouveau propriétaire va vous envoyer des photos, sous peu, de mon nouveau chez-moi.

 

De gros, gros câlins! Bisous, Bisous. Lucky, le vrai chanceux maintenant!

TELEGRAM

Had  a great week-end Stop!

 

Dogs friends came over to be introduce to me!  Stop!

 

Met the cat is name is Jazz, cat love   me! Stop

 

Tried  desesperatly to meet the rabbit but my mother and the rabbit do not want  me to meet him ! Stop

 

Took a lot of pictures this week end! Stop!

 

I am much calmer than last week I am getting use to my new place!  Stop

 

Went   to the Dr. Pillet  office this morning  to open my file and meet with him and have an exam ! Stop

 

Will send you pictures next week because I am leaving wednesday night for Ottawa to fish on the lake and have a good time with family who lives there. Stop!

Hi Helen Rose,

Great to have met you so promptly today in Casselman.  Things are going along well with Codder, so far.  He slept the whole way home without a whine!

I took him to my mom's retirement home and he was a real hit with the staff and people in the reception area.  He promptly went to sleep again in my mom's room and only woke up when it was time to leave- and then waited until we got outside to piddle!.

Saw my neighbour on my way home and she said he looks in great condition - good words from a vet.  Apparently I gave you her land line and they only use their cells.

You thought Codder couldn't jump-  Ha!   After I finished lunch, he jumped on my chair and gave the table a once over-  also tried to sleep on the sofa-  Not a Chance!

Also he knows how to knock down a Baby Gate and will walk right over it!-  He just uses his weight to move it.

The Irish could have jumped over it easily but didn't like the noise it made-  this one can't jump but not phased a bit by the noise!.

Hopefully he will sleep through the night without an accident.

Thanks so much for the great condition he was in- the dog bed, soap and collar too-  Much more than I thought.

I will definitely recommend you to others I know- if he passes the veterinarian's check- which I am sure he will!

Bonjour Helen Rose,

Cela été un plaisir de te rencontrer si vite aujourd’hui à Casselman.  Tout va bien avec Codder, à date. Il a dormit durant tout le voyage sans faire un bruit!

Je l’ai amené au foyer de personnes âgées où est ma mère et les personnes qui travaillent là l’ont adore. Il est tombé endormit une fois de plus dans la chambre de ma mère et s’est seulement réveillé quand fut le temps de partir. Il a attendu d’être dehors pour faire un petit pipi! J’ai vu mon voisin en retournant à la maison et elle m’a dit qu’il avait l’air en parfaite condition-de bons mots venant d’un vétérinaire. Apparemment je vous ai donné son numéro de téléphone du bureau mais ils ne se servent que de cellulaires.  

Vous pensiez que Codder ne sautait pas – HA! Après avoir finit de manger ce midi, il a grimpé sur ma chaise et à regardé la table avec intérêt.  Aussi, il a essayé d’embarquer sur le sofa- Il en est pas question!

Il sait comment surmonter une barrière de bébé et la fait tombé pour ensuite marcher par-dessus! Il se sert de sont poids pour l’a tassé.

Le Setter Irlandais aurait pu sauter par dessus très facilement mais il n’aimait pas le bruit qu’elle faisait- celui-ci ne peux sauter mais le bruit ne le dérange pas du tout!  

J’espère qu’il va dormir toute la nuit sans avoir un accident.

Merci beaucoup pour la bonne condition dans laquelle il se trouve, le lit pour chien, le savon, et le collier aussi – beaucoup plus que je pensais.

Je vais définitivement vous recommander à d’autres personnes que je connais – si il passe son examin médicale- dont je suis sur qu’il va faire!

Hi HelenRose.

 

I didn't want to overdo the praises for the pup, who we have renamed Buster!  All the neighbors dogs  and their owners are infatuated with him, and we had a naming blitz until something felt natural for me!  He passed the vet test with glowing praises and was a real hit with the staff.  All the shots up to date including for lyme disease- just in case.  Has started to warm up and show his puppy playfulness, but still following me like a Shadow. 

If you get another like him put me on the waiting list.  Let me know when Wilson returns to the area so I can take a look!

Codder/Buster

Hi HelenRose;

You certainly got that right! He won my heart.

 My husband can't believe how great he is!  Don't know who has more fun when they play!  Today, we discovered a new game- hide and seek around the bushes in the garden, and if we don't act fast enough, he barks at us!  Still finding it hard to keep him motivated while walking- I've never had a dog that lies down in the middle of the road, and needs to be lifted up. Perhaps, he needs a walking partner!   Of course, when he gets a sniff of something good like the deer, we could probably do a 4 minute mile!  Having a great time, every day different-  Hope he is now officially mine!  Will send pics, soon!

Wilson

Hi Helen,

Everything is just fine!  Wilson had a good night sleep on a cushion beside our bed.  In the morning though he started to be afraid of Loulou, who had great fun chasing him around!  We went to the dog park and everybody agrees: He's a real trooper!  Tail wagging, tongue dropping out, running with all the others.  A happy dog with a happy family.  We are VERY happy.

Bonjour Helen,

Tout va très bien!  Wilson a bien dormit sur un cousin à côté de notre lit. Au matin, par contre, il s’est mit à avoir peur de Loulou, qui a eu un plaisir fou a courir après lui! Nous avons été au parc pour les chiens et tout le monde s’entend pour dire que c’est un vrai bon chien! La queux qui bat, la langue sortie, courant avec les autres. Un chien heureux avec une famille heureuse. Nous sommes TRÈS contents.

Pas de photos à date mais ne t’inquiète pas…

I just want to keep you up-to-date with my life.

 

As you can see in the pictures, I go play in the big field almost every day with Dave and Blackie and WITHOUT LEASH.............I'm really a good boy and I'm having a

lot of fun with them.In the afternoon I'm so tired that I sleep in and then in the

evening I go to the dog park to play with my other friends.

 I have a busy life and I love it
