Basset Hound Rescue Quebec

Sad to say these 3 week old puppies were rescued recently and are not even weaned yet.. How lucky they ended up here instead of the curb..

They are being fed every 4 hours gruel and goats milk as that is the closest to mothers milk for them.. The mobile vet is coming next week as I feel its too cold out to attempt taking them to the office.. they are fragile at this young age..They will be with me for quite some time and will be quite expensive with all they will need with vaccinations and sterilizing before being ready for adoption.. So if anyone reading this is feeling generous in Spirit.. we would feel blessed for any help You might provide..

Update: Well the pups are in good health and good weights.. one unfortunately has a hernia that needs surgery.. but at this age its risky so I need to wait and watch.. if he has pain it will mean emergency surgery.. if not I can wait a while let him grow.

Update: Well the pups are now 11 weeks how time has flown.. they soon will be going to their forever homes .. the hernia boy had his surgery and is doing fine.. Thank You to all who sent me warm wishes.. as I took care of this gang of homeless pups.

C’est triste de dire que ces chiots de 3 semaines ont été secourus récemment alors qu’ils n’étaient pas encore sevrés de leur mère. Par chance qu’on nous a contactés plutôt que de les abandonner à la rue.

Ils sont nourris de gruau et de lait de chèvre à toutes les 4 heures ce qui se rapproche le plus au lait maternelle.  Le vétérinaire viendra la semaine prochaine car il fait trop froid ces temps-ci pour les amener à sa clinique.  À cet âge, ils sont beaucoup trop fragiles. 

Ils seront avec moi pour une longue période avant d’être mis en adoption.  Durant ce temps, leurs besoins seront nombreux et dispendieux.  Ils devront recevoir leurs vaccins et être stérilisés.  Alors, si quelqu’un veut nous aider d’une façon quelconque, nous en serions très reconnaissants.
